      [A Windows 2000 system that has empty, unallocated space next to the boot partition can have its boot partition resized non-destructively through an in-place upgrade. Since the only other way to do this is through a third-party application, it's useful to have this on hand if you realize you've not assigned enough space to the boot partition.

      Once you've backed up any critical data and broken any software mirroring you have on the boot partition, do the following:
        1. Run SETUP.EXE on the Windows 2000 CD-ROM (from within Windows 2000 itself) and start an in-place upgrade.
        2. Don't reboot after file copying is finished. Exit SETUP.EXE.
        3. Open the file C:$WIN_NT$.tildeBTWINNT.SIF in Notepad.
        4. Add the value ExtendOemPartition=1 in the [Unattended] section.
        5. Reboot and let the upgrade continue.]
