One of the few books to address Cubist influences on art of other countries outside France. In Defiance of Painting: Cubism, Futurism, and the Invention of Collage, by Christine Poggi. This is the best single volume treatment of the development of collage...an eye opener. Picasso and Braque: A Symposium. A roundtable discussion (and sometimes sharp debate) among the world's foremost scholars of Cubism. Cubism in the Shadow of War: The Avant-garde and Politics in Paris, 1905-1914. A new study from David Cottington, placing Cubism in its Parisian milieu.
