| OPEN | Client-server software for automatinghigh-volume digital production workflows. OPEN is a "process server" used to control applications on both Mac OS and Windows NT. The NT version supports AppleScript, OLE, and Visual Basic scripting.
As an example, the NT OPEN server can control, Adobe Acrobat Exchange on the NT, Distiller on a Mac Satellite, and take input from AppleTalk - so you could print to a OPEN Pipeline (a series of OPEN tasks), and the file would be distilled to a PDF on one Mac, have thumbnails generated in the PDF on the NT in Exchange, and then go out to an outbasket, or FTP'd or emailed by Anarchie or Eudora on a Mac. |
