      The Wish
Words & Music by Mae Moore

Lift your eyes up from the ground
      Look into the sky
Watch the moon descend on us
      It's come to say goodbye
Time is not the only thing
      We now stand to lose
Another day might have changed my mind
      But what's the use

      What's all this about tomorrow
      We're living it now
Take this love - it's yours to borrow
      I'm giving it now

Retrospective thinking always gets to me at night
Destiny come down and seal my fate up watertight
      I'll still make my wish
And someday it just may come true
      But for now I'm satisfied
      Just being here with you

We might find out one day
It's not enough to hope and pray
      The wish
When all the love we're longing for
      Is locked behind another door
I believe we'll find another way
      To get down to it
      The wish

Lift your head up from your bed
      And look into my eyes
The coming years are dangerous for love
      We must be wise
Love is not the only thing that we now stand to lose
On the eve of finding out the wish has just come true
